Yes….. he was swallowed with delight by one of those carnivores….. and, as he was passing through his digestive channel, he saw that his Heart had a hole.
Through that hole Little Rat glanced at an Eternal Winter.
That hole tried to heal itself and close, but, eventually, it lost all hope to do so.
The edges got coarser and coarser with time and then froze forever.
At that moment, Little Rat understood the truth about human suffering.
He felt so lonely and so cold looking at the stretch of endless snow.
And he decided to step through this hole and to walk all the way to the horizon until he falls from exhaustion into oblivion, because he lost all hope himself, too.
